'Learning to Scuba Dive with the 4 Day Course'



Learn to dive course - 4 days:     A total of 4 dives:  (all training dives).
The 4 Day Learn to Dive Course is a fantastic way for you to learn to dive and experience the wonders of our Great Barrier Reef. Starting daily, this course includes 2 days of pool and theory work – during which time you arrange your own accommodation and meals. The following 2 days are spent at the Great Barrier Reef either on the comfortable live aboard vessel the M.V. Kangaroo Explorer or aboard the day trip vessel the M.V. Sun-Kist. They limit their overnight passenger numbers to 38 to ensure your comfort.

Four Day Budget Course:

DAY 1 - Free pick-up from city accommodation at 9.00am
9.15am - Theory lectures
11.30am - Lunch break and medical examination
1.00pm - Pool training
Return to your accommodation 4.30pm

DAY 2 - Pick-up from city accommodation at 7.45am
8.15am - Pool training
11.30am - Lunch break
12.30am - Theory lectures
Return to your accommodation 4.30 pm

DAY 3 - Pick-up from city accommodation, boat briefing and theory exam at 7.30am.
9.000am - Depart Cairns on our luxury vessel, M.V. SUN-KIST for a transfer to the OUTER GREAT BARRIER REEF where you will do your first 2 training dives towards your certification. Lunch included - arriving back at Cairns approximately 4.30 pm.

DAY 4 - 9.00am - Depart Cairns on M.V. SUN-KIST for a fast transfer to the OUTER GREAT BARRIER REEF, where you will do your final 2 training dives. Lunch included.
There are 4 dives in total on this course. You will arrive back in Cairns approximately 4.30 pm.

Additional Costs:

  • Dive Medical - paid directly to the course doctor - $48.00

  • Reef and Port charges (per day) - whilst you are on the reef - $10.00

  • 2 Passport sized photos - if you do not already have your own - $7.00

  • Book Deposit - refunded on return of your book - $50.00

  • Fuel Levy - $5.00

  • Please note that the following conditions may prevent you from diving or gaining a medical clearance for a dive course:

  • asthma, epilepsy, diabetes
  • any heart or lung conditions
  • any major operations
  • some prescription medications.
